John D. Griffin

With over thirty-five years of legal experience, John Griffin represents clients in all aspects of real estate finance, real estate development and affordable housing finance, including those projects using federal and state tax credits and tax-exempt bonds.

Mr. Griffin joined Howell Linkous & Nettles, LLC in 2021 to transition the firm’s affordable housing, real estate and tax credit practice from Mr. Nettles as he contemplated taking an “Of Counsel” position, with primary responsibility for Mr. Nettles’ practice transferred during 2023.

Mr. Griffin devotes the vast majority of his practice to real estate finance, affordable housing and community development. He represents governmental, for-profit, and non-profit entities in all aspects of development and financing of affordable housing. In addition, Mr. Griffin is a licensed title insurance agent for Chicago Title Insurance Company allowing the Firm to streamline real estate closings for its clients.
