Robert M. Nettles

With three decades of legal experience, Robert M. Nettles represents clients in all aspects of real estate development and afford­able housing finance.

Nettles joined Howell & Linkous, LLC in 2005. Mr. Nettles’ broad afford­able housing practice expanded the firm’s capabilities to include the tax and real estate aspects of afford­able housing development, in addition to the firm’s pre-existing tax-exempt financing capabilities.

Mr. Nettles devotes the vast majority of his practice to affordable housing and community development. He represents governmental, for-profit, and non-profit entities in all aspects of development and financing of affordable hous­ing. He is counsel for numerous housing authorities and has served as special Hope VI counsel for two housing authorities. Mr. Nettles has served as counsel in numerous affordable housing projects as owner’s coun­sel, investor’s counsel, and bank counsel. He has handled numerous RD 515 transfers and redevelopments, including most recently three portfolio transactions.
